The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 10 p.m. today. In West Virginia, the watch includes 24 counties: Randolph, Barbour, Upshur, Lewis, Braxton, Calhoun, Clay, Gilmer, Jackson, Nicholas, Roane, Webster, Doddridge, Harrison, Pleasants, Ritchie, Taylor, Tyler, Wirt, Wood, Kanawha, Putnam, Cabell and Mason.
The watch also includes Greenup County in Kentucky and Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton and Washington counties in Ohio.
