A truck fire at the Veterans Memorial intersection in Elkins holds up traffic Friday. An Elkins Volunteer Fire Department representative said the truck was stopped at the red light when the engine caught fire at about 12:40 p.m. Two bystanders immediately attempted to put the fire out with extinguishers before firefighters could arrive. The truck, owned by Bell Enterprise of Mill Creek, was hauling lumber.
