The Barbour County Board of Education regular meeting on Monday also will include a workshop to present information related to a levy the board is considering for presentation to county voters in the November General Election.
The levy workshop and meeting are open to the public. Proposals will be presented at this meeting to board members for their consideration and subsequent vote at the Aug. 6 meeting.
Various representatives from the board's attorneys, West Virginia Department of Education, Thrasher Engineering, Barbour County Schools Central Office, and crews and associates will explain the legal and financial aspects of the levy.
If approved by the board, funding will be sought for renovations to the outside athletic facilities at Philip Barbour High School, supplies and materials for each school, technology/digital resources, transportation for extracurricular activities, capital improvements, general maintenance, WVU Extension Office/public libraries/community programs for child immunization and health care, and child nutrition for free breakfast and lunch programs.
Further information related to the levy workshop and meeting can be obtained by calling the Barbour County Schools Central Office at 304-457-3030.
