Albert Shreve

Albert Perry Shreve, 60, of Elkins, and most recent of Allen junction, went to be with our Lord and saver Saturday, June 9, 2012, in Charleston Area Medical Center due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Albert was born Monday, Jan. 21, 1952, at Beaver, Pa., to the late Albert "Dick" Perry and Virgie Beral Carpenter Shreve.

He is survived by his three pets, Little Dude, Hazel and Chico "Taco;" one daughter, Crystal Dawn and husband, Tim Phillips, of Elkins; three sons, Albert Perry Shreve III of Elkins, Scott Alexander and wife, Kelly Berg, and Joshua Joseph Berg, all of Beckley; one brother, Lloyd Ceil and wife, Shirley Shreve, of Charlottesville, Va.; and one sister, Rose Lee and husband, William Tollin of Elkins.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, Bailey Clair and Danielle Kristen Phillips of Tallahassee, Fa., Donald Devon Lee, Corey Michael, Anna Marie "Annie" Lambert, Dominique Summer and Tyler Kent Phillips, all of Elkins, Zachery Erik, Mykaila Dawn, Brooklynn Nichole and Isaiah Bryant Shreve of Beverly and Bryndle Marie and Shilah Grace Berg, of Beckley; and five nephews and three nieces.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by four brothers, William David, Oscar Ray, Robert Paul and Roy James "Jimmy" Shreve; and one sister Sandra "Sandy" Lou Stalnaker,

Albert attended the schools of Barbour County and was a coal miner until January 2006. He loved his children and grandchildren. He also loved helping people and working in his large garden.

At Albert's request, he was cremated following a small Catholic Memorial at Tankersley Funeral Home in Mullen on June 15, and a full military right memorial service in Little Arlington Cemetery in Elkins will be conducted today at 11 a.m.
