Public hearing set on road system

The Coal Resource Transportation Designation Committee and the West Virginia Division of Highways will host a public hearing Sept. 5 in the cafeteria at Greenbrier West High School at 1 Cavalier Drive, Charmco, on the proposal by South Fork Coal Co. to add 5.50 miles of CR 10/1 and 1.23 miles of CR 39/4 in Greenbrier County and 0.94 mile of CR 29/4 in Pocahontas County to the Coal Resource Transportation Road System.

The scheduled public hearing is from 6 to 7 p.m., or later if additional time is needed. The hearing will give participants an opportunity to ask questions and state their views and opinions on the proposal. A formal presentation by South Fork Coal Co. representatives will commence at 6 p.m. Committee members and WVDOH personnel will be on hand to present information and receive public input.

Those wishing to file written comments can send them to Robert L. Pennington, P.E., director of Program Planning and Administration Division, WVDOH, Capitol Complex Building 5, 1900 Kanawha Boulevard E, Charleston, WV 25305-0430, on or before Oct. 5.

The West Virginia Department of Transportation will, upon request, provide reasonable accommodations including auxiliary aids and services necessary for an individual with a disability to participate in the public hearing.
