The West Virginia Division of Highways will close the Thomas bridge on U.S. 219 in Thomas beginning Aug. 6 for repairs to the backwalls.
The bridge will be closed during working hours from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. and reopened to traffic each evening.
If work proceeds as anticipated, the project will be completed by Aug. 10. Traffic will be detoured through Benbush and Pierce on county Route 18. Division of Highway's personnel will be stationed at the intersections to assist the flow of traffic.
