Billy Lee Henline, 87, a former resident of Valley Head, and more recently of Elkins, passed from this life late Tuesday evening, July 31, 2012, in Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center.
He was born Wednesday, March 25, 1925, at Arcola, a son of the late Hoy L. Henline and Suzanna Tyler Henline.
On Jan. 24, 1948, he was married to the former Virginia Carr, who survives.
Others left to cherish Billy's memory are three daughters, Connie "Beth" Channell and husband, Ted, of Valley Head, Judith "Sharon" Jones and husband, Roger, of Valley Bend and Sue L. Henline and companion, Dan, of Elkins; one son, Robert "Bob" Henline and wife, Sandra, of Mill Creek; one son-in-law, Doug Fritz of Kentucky; and 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Billy in death were one daughter, Michele Henline Fritz; four sisters, Freda Workman, Peggy Villello, Rachel Weese and Blanche Semone; nine brothers, John "Ted" Henline, Hartzel Henline, Mack Henline, Henry "Cub" Henline, Carl Henline, Lester Henline, Alva Henline, James "Fred" Henline, and Arden "Art" Henline; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Billy attended the school at Arcola, had served with the United States Army during World War II and was a coal miner having worked for Maust Coal Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and was a member of the H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion.
Visitation will be conducted at the Randolph Funeral Home today from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel on Friday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. Pastor Harold Swecker will officiate and interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman where members of the H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and the West Virginia Honor Guard will present the American flag.
