Jeanette T. "Janet" Lewis, 79, a resident of Beverly, passed away Thursday evening, Aug. 1, 2012, in Hospice Care Inpatient Center.
She was born Oct. 21, 1932, at Monterville, a daughter of the late Calvin Cecil and Lettie Effie Hogan Riggleman.
She was married to Charles N. Lewis, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Paula J. Baughman and husband, Bob, of Philippi, Patricia K. "Trish" Thomason and husband, Don, of Beverly and Stephanie L. Beer and husband, David, of Buckhannon. A brother, Newton F. Riggleman of Beverly; a sister, Virginia Stalnaker of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, Douglas W. Bright and wife, Shelly, of Cross Lanes, Charna N. Ferguson and husband, Shawn, of Elkins, Joshua Teter and wife, Samantha, of Mabie, Janine R. and Nathaniel J. L. Beer of Buckhannon; six great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandson also survive.
Also preceding her in death were one brother, George Elmer Riggleman; and one infant sister.
Janet had worked as a receptionist for Lewis Tax Service for 12 years and had been employed as a cook with the Randolph County Schools for 13 years and Randolph County Senior Center. She was a member of Randolph County Cancer Support Group, West Virginia Association of Retired School Employees and Beverly United Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Carroll McCauley and the Rev. Leon Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Cemetery.
