Kathryn Irene Shanahan Rowan, 73, a resident of Maysville, passed away early Monday, August 6, 2012 in the Good Samaritan Center at Belington.
She was born Jan. 23, 1939, at Baltimore, Md., a daughter of the late John Francis and Catherine Irene Brown Shanahan.
Surviving are two sons, Shane Rowan and wife, Maryann, of Jimtown, and Steven Rowan and wife, Connie, of Mabie; and five daughters, Michelle Nutter and husband, Todd, of Jimtown, Suzette Rexrode and husband, Michael, of Maysville, Sandra Mick and husband, Dan, of Weston, Stacey McCartney and husband, Ronnie, of Jane Lew, and Amy Rowan Smith and husband, Brad, of Norton. Three brothers, John Shanahan, Bernie Shanahan and Joe Shanahan, all of Maryland; 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive.
Also preceding her in death was one brother, Gene Shanahan.
Kathryn was a homemaker, a former 4-H Leader and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church at Coalton.
At the request of the deceased, her remains were cremated. A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at St. Patrick Catholic Church at Coalton.
