Randolph HOF to induct new members

The Randolph County Hall of Fame will induct its new members today during a banquet at the Gandy Dancer Theatre.

Six individuals and two teams will be part of the 2012 Hall of Fame class.

A social for the event will be from noon to 12:30 p.m.. Lunch and the inductions will immediately follow.

The cost for the event is $30 for adults and $10 for children.

Zaia Wharton, Tommy Lopez, Larry Pnakovich, Erika Thompson, David Harvey and Fonso Stalnaker are the six individuals entering the Hall of Fame.

Wharton from Elkins ran cross country and track, while Lopez was a football player at Tygarts Valley High School.

Pnakovich played basketball at Tygarts Valley and Thompson was an All-State swimmer and cross country runner at Elkins. Harvey played basketball at Coalton and Stalnaker was football, basketball and baseball player at Elkins High School.

The two teams are the 1992 Elkins High School track team and the 2005 Tygarts Valley football team.
