The driver of this tractor-trailer suffered injuries and had to be carefully removed from the wreckage after a single-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon at the Isner Creek turn on U.S. 33 East. The truck appeared to have rolled at least once and the cab was completely detached from the trailer. The trailer apparently snapped a utility pole, which landed in the middle of the road, and completely dismantled a guardrail before rolling into a ravine. The roadway was closed several hours as emergency workers from the West Virginia State Police, Elkins City Police, Randolph County Emergency Medical Services and the Elkins Fire Department responded to the scene. Information on the driver’s injuries was not available at presstime.
