The seventh annual Weston Antique Market and Street Fair was a victim of the severe June 29 storm, which knocked out power to most of the state.
Forty vendors had signed up for the event but only 10 were able to set up that day. Organizers were unable to call participants to cancel the event, so the show went on.
However, members of the Weston Fairs and Festivals Committee have decided to have the fair again on Sept. 8. Vendors who already had paid for the event will not be charged again to set up that day.
"We were really looking forward to the fair," said Marian Jarrell of the Festivals Committee. "Besides all the vendors, we planned a great activity for the children with our Kids Karnival. Fortunately, we will be able to have the same games for the children that day."
The committee has sent letters to the vendors who were scheduled for June 30. If other individuals also would like to sell that day, they can call J. Spelsberg at 304-269-3683.
