Two people were injured and an Ellamore man is facing charges following an accident Sunday afternoon on U.S. 33 in Upshur County.
Representatives from the Upshur County Sheriff's Department said a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck driven by Ronald D. Deuley, 55, of Route 1, HC 183, was trying to cross the intersection of U.S. 33 and Vegan Road when Deuley apparently failed to see an eastbound Ford Expedition.
The two vehicles collided, causing two men from the pickup truck to be thrown from that vehicle. They were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon.
Deuley was charged with driving under the influence, third offense; and with driving with a suspended license, police said. He is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.
The driver of the Ford Expedition was not injured. The names of the other victims were not released.
Fire departments from Buckhannon and Ellamore responded to the scene, as well as the Upshur County Emergency Medical Squad.
