Buckhannon-Upshur High School graduate Jordan Shaver has been named the 2012 Progressive Bank Scholarship recipient.
Shaver was awarded the competitive four-year award totaling $3,200 to use toward her undergraduate studies at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Based on academic criteria/references, the scholarship recipient or immediate family member must have an account with Progressive Bank.

A 2012 graduate of B-UHS with a 4.1 grade point average, she also was ranked second in her class, which was comprised of 240 students. Entering Wesleyan this fall, she plans to major in biology/pre-med.
At B-UHS, Shaver participated in show choir, Young Life and junior volunteers, and she was a member of the National Honor Society.
She is the daughter of Rosa and Rod Shaver. Rosa Shaver is a 1988 graduate of Wesleyan. Her grandmother, Mary Carpino, and cousin, Kayla Long, also attended Wesleyan.
In order to be eligible for the Progressive Bank Scholarship, the candidates' high school grade point average, ACT and SAT scores, high school class rank, and letters of recommendation are reviewed to determine the scholarship winner. Previous winners include Jessica Harvey and Diane Roberts.
