Elkins High School class of 1972 will host its 40th reunion this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The weekend will begin with an informal gathering Friday at the Elkins Motor Lodge, 1863 Tavern, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. All are invited to come and enjoy a social time with classmates.
On Saturday, classmates and families will gather at the home of Mike and Roxanne Knicely near Highland Park for a chicken barbecue picnic beginning at 2 p.m. and continuing into the evening. The cost for the day is $15 per person. Attendees are welcome to bring other picnic foods and are asked to bring lawn chairs.
On Sunday, an informal memorial service for deceased class members will take place at Camp Pioneer near Beverly at 8:30 a.m., followed by a continental breakfast at the outside pavilion on the grounds of the 4-H camp. Attendees should bring lawn chairs for this event.
