CLARKSBURG - The Elkins High School Golf team captured a three-team match Tuesday at the Clarksburg Country Club.
Elkins won the contest after shooing a 165 for the day. Robert C. Byrd followed with a 169 and South Harrison rounded out the field with a 220.
Elkins' Braden Hammond and Alex Baird shared low-medalist honors with Robert C. Byrd's Travis Riddle after all three golfers fired a 39.
Kollin Hopwood carded a 41, for the Tigers, while teammate Kelsi Trippett finished with a 46.
Ezra Calef had a 42 and Jeremy Thomas a 43 for the Eagles.
Luke Gain finished with a 51 for South Harrison.
Elkins will entertain Philip Barbour for a 4 p.m. Big 10 Conference match today at the Elks Country Club.
TC, TV COMPETE?IN?MATCH: Tucker County and Tygarts Valley competed in a four-team golf match Tuesday at Canaan Valley Resort.
Notre Dame won the event after shooting a 178 for the day.
Tucker County finished second with a 194, while East Hardy placed third with a 205. Tygarts Valley rounded out the field with a 206.
Notre Dame's Drew Ridgeway shot a 41 to earn low-medalist honors in the match.
The Mountain Lions were led by Ian Nichols' 46. Lucas Bast followed for Tucker County with a 47.
Korey Foltz shot a 43 to pace the Cougars.
Alex Hinzman and Jared Wegman both shot 50 to lead Tygarts Valley.
Tucker County will return to action today when it entertains Moorefield for a Potomac Valley Conference match.
Tygarts Valley will entertain a match on Tuesday at Snowshoe.

B-U?PLACES?THIRD: Buckhannon-Upshur placed third in a tight quadrangular match Tuesday afternoon at the Tygart Lake Golf Club.
Bridgeport and Grafton matched stroke-for-stroke, ending in a 164-164 deadlock. Buckhannon-Upshur was right behind at 169 with Trinity placing fourth with a team tally of 202.
Grafton's Lucas Ware led the Bearcats by running away with the individual title in the event.
Ware sizzled the layout, carding a sterling 31 which was six under par for the course. He was complemented by Michael Crutchfield's 38.
Bridgeport's Brent Rhodes and Mario Oliverion each turned in 38 scores in what was a balanced Indian lineup.
Buckhannon-Upshur also had a balanced scoring lineup, but like Bridgeport, simply had no answer for the big day from Ware.
Dalton Crislip led the Bucs with a nine-hole score of 39. He was followed by Dalton Westfall's 40, a 43 from Stetson West, a 47 from Jacob Hinzman, a 48 from Nathan Gall, and a 54 from Jeffrey Davis.
