Bulldogs to entertain Mountain Lions today

Tucker County looks to remain unbeaten on the season when it visits rival Tygarts Valley for a Potomac Valley Conference matchup at Bulldog Field.

The Mountain Lions (1-0) are coming off a 29-0 victory over Pocahontas County last Friday.

Tucker County, which defeated Tygarts Valley 50-0 last season, is led by quarterback Derek Nestor, who had 204 all-purpose yards and had two touchdowns last week.

"In order to slow down their offense, we have to contain Nestor," Tygarts Valley coach Joseph Arbogast coach said. "If we let him run all over the field, we're going to be in trouble."

Running backs Austin Zirk and Mikhail Lewis will also provide strong play out for Tucker County.

"We're going to have to run the ball and run our offense, because Tygarts Valley play several different types of defenses" Rapp said. "If we do that, I think we will be in good shape."

Tygarts Valley (0-1) is coming off a 40-8 loss at Pendleton County last week.

The Bulldogs are led by quarterback Brandon Pritt and running back Andrew Torres.

Pritt threw for 124 yards last week, while Torres had 90 yards rushing and a touchdown.

"We were pretty pleased with our offense last week," Arbogast said. "We just need to come into the game and run our offense."

University at

Buckhannon-Upshur

Buckhannon-Upshur will host University for a non-conference matchup tonight at 7:30 p.m.

The Bucs (0-1) are coming off a 29-14 loss to Bridgeport last week.

Running backs Seth Cutright and Philip Fetrulak will look to lead the B-U attack.

University (1-0) is coming off a 35-7 win over Lewis County last week.

The Hawks are led by quarterback Travis Renner.

Philip Barbour at

Lincoln

Philip Barbour will travel to Lincoln for a Big 10 Conference matchup tonight at 7:30 p.m.

The Colts (0-1) are coming off a 31-28 loss to rival Grafton last week.

Quarterback Dillon Newman will guide the Colts offense.

Lincoln (0-1) is coming off a 54-21 loss to Braxton.

Preston at

Lewis County

Lewis County will look to bounce back after a disappointing loss at University last week.

The Minutemen (0-1) will entertain Preston for a 7:30 p.m. contest.

Lewis County is led by quarterback Braden Montgomery.

Preston (0-1) is coming off a 40-7 loss to Hampshire last week.

Running back Cory Goldstrom is the Knights' top offensive threat.

East Hardy at

Craig County (Va.)

East Hardy will open the season at Craig County tonight.

The Cougars, who advanced to the Class A state semifinals last season, is led by senior quarterback Shawn Skovron.

Craig County defeated Cumberland 16-14 in its opener last week.

Moorefield at

Frankfort

Moorefield travels to Frankfort for a non-conference matchup tonight.

The Yellow Jackets (1-0), who defeated Wirt County 42-35 last Friday, is led by senior quarterback Adam Snyder and running back Da'Sean Brown.

Frankfort defeated North Marion 55-27 last week.

Pendleton County at

Petersburg

Pendleton County will look to stay undefeated on the season when it travels to Petersburg tonight.

The Wildcats (1-0) defeated TV 40-8 last week.
