Curtis Alan Haller, 54, a resident of Scott's House in Fairmont, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012.
Born Aug. 5, 1958, at Bethesda, Md., he is the son of the late Clarence W. Haller and Wanda J. Fink Wotring of Parsons.
In June 1981, he married the former Sharon Gallisby, who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death was one brother, Denzil L. Fink of Elkins.
Surviving are two sons, Zachary B. Haller of Marion, Ohio, and Aaron W. Abrecht of Maryland; one grandson, Devin Haller of Florida; and two sisters, Karen Haller Long of Parsons and Cynthia Shehan-Pruitt of Jenks, Okla.
Curtis attended the Tucker County school and graduated from Elkins High School with the class of 1977. He served in the United State Air Force in Cheyenne, Wyo., from August 1977 to October 1979. He held many specialization in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and welding. He enjoyed music, writing songs and playing guitar harmonica while singing classic tunes. He also was a chef and loved to spend time in the kitchen cooking with lots of spices and creating new dishes. He took pride in his sons and grandson - displaying pictures and letters for all to see.
Curtis believed in giving to others so, at his request, his body has been donated to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine at Lewisburg.
A memorial service is planned for Sunday, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m. at Rivers of Living Water Church, 2 Lincoln Ave. in Elkins.
