The 76th Mountain State Forest Festival has announced the appointments of Royal Scouts Morgan Grace Barnett, Justin James Bibey, Katherine Elise Markley and Zachary Wade Tysor.
Barnett is the daughter of James and Michelle Barnett of Elkins. She is the granddaughter of David and Joann Hickman of Craigsville and James Barnett of Cowen and the late Karen Barnett. She has three siblings, Makayla and Macy Amos and Evan Barnett. She is an honor student at Elkins Middle School, and is a member of the band and choir. She also is a member of Girl Scout Troop 4161. She enjoys playing softball, painting, reading and playing the flute. Her future plans are to become a teacher.
Bibey is the son of James and Kelly Bibey of Elkins. He is the grandson of Tom and Barbara Binns of Elkins and the late Kenneth and Willa Bibey. He has one sister, Emily.
Royal Scouts Morgan Grace Barnett, Justin James Bibey, Katherine Elise Markley and Zachary Wade Tysor will be part of the royal court of the 76th Mountain State Forest Festival.
He is an honor student at Elkins Middle School; is a member of the Elkins Middle School Band, where he plays saxophone; is on the yearbook staff; and was chosen as a Midland Mediator. He is a member of the Gilman Seneca 4-H Club and has served as president, vice president and reporter, and he won blue and gold ribbons two years for state Visual Presentation Contest. He enjoys building Legos, playing music, camping, fishing, kayaking and bike riding. He also is active in family recycling and enjoys creating things from recyclables. His future plans are to achieve Eagle Scout Rank, continue in 4-H and become an inventor. He is a member of Troop 88, first class rank, and he has earned 13 merit badges, plus the Arrow of Light and the Order of the Arrow.
Markley is the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Markley of Elkins. She is the granddaughter of Carson and Elaine Markley of Huttonsville and Dorothy Mcpeek of Paden City and the late Scott Mcpeek. She has two brothers, Charles and John Markley. She is an active member of the First Baptist Church and youth group.
She attends the Elkins Middle School. She is a six-year-member of the Black Diamond Girl Scouts, attends sewing classes at The Elkins Sewing Center and won a blue ribbon in her age group at the 2011 Mountain State Forest Festival Art Show. She enjoys swimming, gardening and camping. Her future plans are to begin Shotokan karate at the YMCA in January and she wants to be an architect when she grows up. She is a member of the Cadettes in Girl Scout Troop 4161.
Tysor is the son of Roger and Debbie Tysor of Elkins. He is the grandson of Donald Aitken of Belington and the late Eleanor June Tacy Aitken and Olin and Ethel Ryder of Baltimore, Md.
He is an honor roll student at the Elkins Middle School, a member of student council and served as a page for the West Virginia House of Delegates. He is a member of the Elkins Middle School Band, where he plays trumpet and tuba. He is a fifth-year piano student in the studio of Marijane Kiley, and he is a member of the EAA Young Eagle. He is a member of First United Methodist Church and the middle school youth group. He also enjoys traveling, music, cycling, reading, playing racquetball and playing chess. In his future plans, he aspires to attend the United State Air Force Academy, study aeronautics and become a pilot. He is a member of the First Class Scouts in Troop 88.
