Elkins, Tygarts Valley drop contests; Lady Colts take pair

PETERSBURG - Tygarts Valley fell to Petersburg in four games Tuesday night in non-conference action.

The Lady Bulldogs (0-1) lost the match 18-25, 25-23, 15-25 and 19-25.

Shanda Howell had nine aces and five kills, while Kelsey Arbogast was the best setter for Tygarts Valley.

The Lady Bulldogs will host Pendleton County on Thursday.

PBHS?WINS: Philip Barbour swept a pair of games Tuesday in Big 10 Conference action.

The Lady Colts (8-0, 3-0 Big 10) defeated Grafton in two games in their first contest, 25-5 and 25-6.

Hannah Stewart had 19 points, three aces and five digs, while Brooke DePoy had 12 points, three aces and two blocks.

Morgan Stemler had 14 assists and Nikki Shriver had six digs for the Lady Colts.

Philip Barbour defeated Lewis County in its second matchup. The Lady Colts won in two games, 25-9 and 25-5.

DePoy had seven digs and two blocks, while Stewart had 14 points and seven aces for Philip Barbour.

Sydney Curtis had eight points, while Karlie Smallwood added five digs for the Lady Colts.

Shriver chipped in with eight kills and three blocks.

Philip Barbour will travel to Robert C. Byrd at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

EHS?FALLS: Elkins fell to Lincoln in five games Tuesday in Big 10 Conference action at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.

The Lady Tigers (0-2) lost the varsity contest in six games, 22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 23-25 and 14-16.

Elkins will host Lewis County on Thursday for a Big 10 Conference matchup.
