Stella Bialek

Stella Josephine Zarzeczny Bialek, 94, currently a resident of Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, Elkins, however, most of her life was spent in McKees Rocks, Pa. She departed this life Monday evening, Sept 3, 2012. Stella had been in her usual health and death was unexpected.

She was born Nov. 17, 1917, at McKees Rocks, Pa., a daughter of the late Peter and Anna Mach Zarzeczny.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, which included eight siblings.

On Sept 24, 1941, she married Chester Bialek, who preceded her in death, March 30, 1989. They had celebrated nearly 48 years of marriage.

She is survived by three children, Edward and wife, Joann, of Plano, Texas, Joani Fadool and husband, Ray, of Tinley Park, Ill., and Jimmy Bialek and wife, Karen, of Elkins. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Amy Bialek Parsons and husband, John, of Elkins, Ashley Bialek Flanagan and husband, Chris, of Morgantown, Scott Bialek and wife, Jennifer, of Austin, Texas, Chris Fadool and wife, Jodi, of Chicago, Ill., Nicki Rogers and husband, Jason, of Dallas, Texas, and Meghan Agatep and husband, Ron, of London, England; and eight great-grandchildren, Grace Parsons, Eli Flanagan, Stella and Penelope Agatep, Julia Rogers, Jake and Emme Bialek and Joseph Fadool.

One grandson, James Brent "JB" Bialek preceded her in death.

She and her husband, Chester, worked tirelessly or 16 years at their restaurant, Bialek's Cafe in McKees Rocks, Pa. She was an avid cook and was well known for making hot sausage, wonderful Polish cookies and specialty Polish foods. You never left her home without eating something.

The family will receive friends at Szal's Funeral Home Friday evening in McKees Rocks, Pa. Mass will be Saturday morning at St. Marys Catholic Church, and interment will follow at St. Marks Cemetery in McKees Rocks, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the J.B. Bialek Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 704, Elkins, WV 26241 or the charity of choice. Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins and Szal's Funeral Home of McKees Rock, Pa., are in charge of the arrangements for Stella Josephine Bialek.
