Richwood native named princess

Caitland "Caitie" Marie Adkins has been appointed as a princess in the 76th Mountain State Forest Festival, by Delegate Greg Tucker.

Adkins is the daughter of Lloyd and Carolyn Adkins of Richwood. She is the granddaughter of Ray and Charlene Lucky, also of Richwood. She has two sisters, Adrienne Adkins and Ashley Grimmutt, and a brother-in-law, Jason Grimmutt.

Adkins is a graduate of Richwood High School and was valedictorian for the class of 2009. She also was a PROMISE Scholar. She attends Fairmont State University, where she is on the dean's list and is a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Adkins will graduate from Fairmont State University in December with a Bachelor Science degree in biology. She plans to attend graduate school to become a physician assistant and work in drug rehabilitation.

Adkins will join the other princesses and members of the royal court descending coronation hill Oct. 5 on the campus of Davis & Elkins College. More information is available at www.forestfestival.com.
