The West Virginia Wesleyan women's golf team finished second at the Fairmont State Fall Classic on Monday.
The Lady Bobcats carded a team score of 671, placing them 40 strokes behind team-champion Concord.
Wesleyan closed the two-day tournament three strokes ahead of Fairmont (674) and 14 shots ahead West Liberty (685). Glenville finished fifth with a team total of 815.
"Overall it was a good tournament for us and a way for us to see where we really are early in the season," Wesleyan head coach Mike Rogers said. "We now know what we need to work on before we head to Latrobe next week for the St. Vincent Tournament."
Concord's Stephanie Feareth was the event's top individual, shooting a tourney total of 148 (73-75). Fairmont's Elizabeth Frederick carded the top round of day two, closing the tourney at 150 (78-72),
Wesleyan's Jennifer Smith tied for fifth. Smith shot a total of 163 (79-84), while Kayla Linger and Brittany Borkovich both hit 164.
Wesleyan will return to action Monday at the St. Vincent's Invitational.
The host venue will be the Glengarry Golf Links in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
