Russell Lee Cooper, 77, of Thomas, passed away at Nella's Nursing Home in Elkins, Sept. 9, 2012.
He was born Dec. 25, 1935, a son of the late Anna Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Martha.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Cline; and two sisters Ruth Harvey and Naoma Harvey.
He is survived by one son, Robert B. Cooper of Thomas.
Mr. Cooper served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from the government, where he was employed by the Bureau of Construction and Maintenance/Botanical Gardens Division of Washington, D.C. Mr. Cooper enjoyed fishing and talking; he enjoyed sharing his history knowledge of the area.
