Barbour County Senior Center plans fall trips

September 14, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

The Barbour County Senior Center, in conjunction with Nancy's Tours, is planning several trips this fall, including trips to Ohio in October; and trips to Grove City Outlets, a concert in Charleston and Hartwood Acres to see the Christmas lights in November.

On Dec. 1, members of the center will go to a dinner theater to see a Christmas show at Legonier, Pa. There will be shopping and a trip to the Holiday Revue, by the Valley Players. They also will visit the Overly's Country Christmas light display and bonfire.

On Aug. 14 to 24, 2013, an Alaska cruise and tour are planned. A passport is required. Some of the highlights will include a seven-day cruise on the Sapphire Princess and a four-day pre-cruise tour, which will include the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, Denali National Park Wilderness Lodge, the Denali National Park Natural History Tour and the Denali Express Rail. The ports of call will include Hubbard Glacier, Glacier Bay National Park, Skagway, Juneau and the Ketchikan Alaska Inside Passage. All meals are aboard the ship. There is shipboard entertainment, transportation and an Alaska Motor Coach tour. The cost is $750 per person, and a deposit is due with each reservation. Final payment is due by May 2013.
