Gerald E. Scott, 83, of Freedom Township, Ohio, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, in Woodlands in Ravenna, Ohio.
Born May 27, 1929, at Norton, Gerald served as a military policeman in the Army. He was employed at Polson Rubber, Chrysler and Swagelok. Gerald enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and football, playing cards and the many memorable times spent with family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved aunt, Ocie Scott, in West Virginia.
He is survived by his son, Jeffery (Andrea) Scott of Garrettsville, Ohio; sisters, Phyllis Jackson of Beverly, Deloris (Bernie) Flynn of Elyria, Ohio, Janet (Louis) Soos of Vermillion, Ohio, and Hilda (Mike) Alsop of South Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Foy Scott; and parents, Homer and Prudence Shipman Scott.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Funeral services will be Monday at noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Drakesburg Cemetery, Freedom Township, Ohio.
