Members of the Belington Police Department sponsored a bike rodeo recently to teach kids bike safety and laws. Stations were set up to perform general bicycle repairs and to inspect helmets.
Belington patrolman Josh Hymes led the student on a ride through town.
Winners of three new bicycles were Belington residents Brandon Hornick, Lacey Harlan and Haley Flint. Flint gave her old bicycle to a girl who did not own a bicycle of her own.

Volunteers for the event include Belington Police Chief Keith Rowan, Belington Police Sgt. D.J. Harris, Bob Chewning and Allen Wilson.
Donations for the day were received from the Governor's Highway Safety Program, Mark Ryan, Elkins Walmart, Craig Phillips and the Barbour County Family Resource Network.
