The West Virginia Army National Guard and the Upshur County Development Authority announced Monday that a construction agreement has been executed for the building of a new National Guard Readiness Center and Buckhannon Conference Center.
Paramount Builders of St. Albans was awarded the multi-million dollar contract with construction to start this fall and to be completed within 24 months. The facility will be located off of Brushy Fork Road approximately one mile from the intersection with U.S. Route 33.
Once completed, the Buckhannon Conference Center will be managed by the Upshur County Convention & Visitor's Bureau. The Center will feature seating for up to 500, as well as smaller meeting rooms.
