Director General Mike Karlen has chosen Chelsea Dawne Elmore as a princess in the 76th Mountain State Forest Festival.
Elmore is the daughter of Rodney and Ginger Elmore of Elkins. She is the granddaughter of Lynn and Linda Muhlstien and the late Ray and Judy Elmore, and great granddaughter of Rosie Phillips, all of Elkins. She has one brother, Zachary "Zack" Elmore.
Elmore graduated from Elkins High School with the class of 2010. She was a member of the National Honor Society, was the HOSA secretary and competed at the state level for medical terminology. She was a member of DECA and won first place at the state level in creative marketing projects and went on to compete at the International Conference.
She is listed in Who's Who in Mathmathics, Who's Who in World Geography and Science and graduated in the top 10 percent of her class. She was a member of the track team and volunteered for several years with the MSFF Talent Show Committee. Elmore loves to be outdoors and spending time with family and friends, especially aunts and cousins from North Carolina. She also was a member of the JRES Choir that recorded "It's Forest Festival Time."
She has attended the Center School of Practical Nursing at West Virginia University and presently attends the Randolph Technical School, studying to become a licensed practical nurse. She plans to get her bachelor of science degree in nursing and become a traveling nurse.
