Martinsburg native is 2012 princess

Lauren Kelsey Trumble of Martinsburg has been chosen as a princess in the 76th Mountain State Forest Festival by Director General Mike Karlen.

Trumble is the daughter of Robert and Mary Trumble of Martinsburg. She is the granddaughter of John and Mary Sheedy of Hollidaysburg, Pa., and Walker and Janice Trumble, of Martinsburg. She has three brothers, Johnathon, Daniel and Michael Trumble.

A 2011 graduate of Martinsburg High School, Trumble was a PROMISE and Mountaineer Scholar, a member of the National Honor Society and editor of the Martinsburg High School newspaper. She has taken violin lessons at Shenandoah University for 15 years and continues to play at school. She was a four-year starter and letterman for her high school soccer team. She was the team captain her senior year as well as on the All-State Conference Team.

Trumble

Currently, she is a sophomore at West Virginia University with a major in education. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and is involved in a variety of charitable functions associated with the organization.

Trumble will join other princesses and members of the royal court on coronation hill during the 76th Mountain State Forest Festival on Oct. 5, on the campus of Davis & Elkins College. Additional information about the festival is available online at www.forestfestival.com.
