BUCKHANNON - Alderson-Broaddus prevailed in another defensive tussle Thursday night, edging Wesleyan 1-0 in West Virginia Conference action.
Both teams fought to gain potential scoring opportunities, with the Lady Bobcats holding a 6-1 edge in shots on goal. A-B earned three corner kicks to only two for Wesleyan.
With the contest scoreless early in the second half, Nicole Lehman scored the lone goal of the game off an assist from Gwen Brand.

Lady Battler goalkeeper Kate Laird recorded a shutout, collecting six saves in the contest.
Wesleyan falls to 4-4-2 overall and 2-2 in the WVIAC. Alderson-Broaddus also squares its record, improving to 4-4-1 and 3-1 in the league.
With 10 games in the books, Wesleyan has been remarkable on the defensive end, only allowing a total of five goals on the campaign. Offensively, they have only hit the net seven times.
The Lady Bobcats will entertain WVU?Tech Monday. A-B will travel to Ursiline the same night.

FARMINGTON - Lauren Cvechko and Brooklyn Waddell had two goals each to lead Buckhannon-Upshur past North Marion 7-0 Thursday in Big 10 Conference action.
Hannah Stankus, Emily Godwin and Jessica Feronti added goals for the Lady Bucs, while Godwin had four assists.
B-U outshot North Marion 17-4 in the contest and held an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Kelsey Hinzman had four keeper saves in goal for Buckhannon-Upshur.
Danielle Fluharty had 10 stops in net for the Lady Huskies.
"It's always nice when you practice something and then accomplish the task in a game," Buckhannon-Upshur coach Tom Hasbrouck said. "We practiced corner kicks on Wednesday and scored three times on them tonight. I was really pleased with our overall play."
B-U will host Liberty Tuesday for another Big 10 Conference matchup.

CLARKSBURG - The Elkins High School volleyball team lost to Liberty in three games Thursday night in Big 10 Conference action.
The Lady Tigers (4-4) fell by the scores of 25-5, 25-15 and 25-18.
Kaitlyn Miller had four solo blocks, eight kills and 13 hits for Elkins. Amiah Price had one ace serve, five kills and seven hits
Contrara Huffman collected 20 set assists, while Ashley Simmons had nine hits for the Lady Tigers.
Cassie Plishka added two ace serves and Delaney Johnson finished with three kills and seven hits. Taylor Miller chipped in with five set assists for Elkins.
The Lady Tigers will visit Lincoln on Tuesday.
