Reunion gathers Coberly family

The annual Coberly reunion took place Aug. 4 at the Arbogast Pavilion in Bowden.

There were 37 family and friends present.

Gary Coberly Jr. gave the blessing. A moment of silence was held for loved ones who passed away since the last reunion. This included Jay Barb, son of the late Howard and Lucille Barb; and Scotty Carr, son of Patty (Vance) Carr; and Cathyleen Gordon, grandmother of Gary Jr., Chris and David Coberly.

Those present enjoyed a covered-dish luncheon. Prizes were awarded in the following categories with the following winners. Oldest woman, Ruby Coberly, 86 years; oldest man, Donald Coberly, 83 years; youngest girl, Peyton Workman, 10 months; youngest boy, Aiden Shaderfield, 1 year, 10 months; married most years, Gene and Ruth Fike, 52 years; married least years, John and Colleen Coberly, 13 years; traveling farthest, Lorraine (Coberly) Smith from Largo, Fla.

Those attending from Maryland included Francis and Wilda (Coberly) Whittington, John Coberly, Colleen Cassie Coberly and Heather Coberly.

Those attending from Ohio included Ron Stewart and family, and Gene and Ruth (Vance) Fike.

Those attending from Winchester, Va., included Arthur and Joan Stewart.

Those attending from West Virginia included Don Coberly, Ruby Coberly, Sandy Coberly, Gary Tonya and Isaiah Coberly, Harly and Linda Coberly, Bobby and Mary Hamrick, Katelin and Aiden Shaderfield, Peyton Workman, Roy and Doris (Coberly) Johnson, Jimmy and Tammy Johnson, Danielle (Coberly) Mallow, Autumn Mallow and Lukus Armstrong, Lenard Stewart, Hannah and Haley Stewart, Tonya Long and Lucielle Barb.

Next year's annual Coberly Reunion is set for Aug. 3 at the Arbogast Pavilion at Bowden.
