The Buckhannon-Upshur Farmer's Market's first annual Fall Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Jawbone Park.
There will be many activities for the whole family. Contests will include: largest pumpkin, largest vegetable, carved pumpkins, dog costume, pumpkin pie eating contest, hog calling, pumpkin recipe contest, antique tractors, corn meal grinding demonstration with Gene Hornbeck of Hilltop Mills, caramel apples, cake and pie walk, scarecrow making contest, pumpkin seed spitting and more. Kids can get their faces painted and enter the pumpkin roll contest.
From 9 a.m. to noon, "picking and a grinning" live music with the public is scheduled, so bring an instrument. The Nesbitt Trio of Buckhannon will perform from 1 to 4 p.m.
