Helen Kathleen Vandevander Moats, 83, of Durbin, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Oct.2, 2012, in Hospice Care in Elkins.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Grant and Edna Vandevander; brothers, Eugene and June Vandevander; and her husband, Paul Mac Moats.
Mrs. Moats is survived by her four children, Evelyn Warner and husband, Ray, of Beverly, Paula Wood and husband, Dannie, of Four Oaks, N.C., Gloria Tingler and husband, Roger, of Circleville and Gary Moats and wife, Betty, of Beverly. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She has one living sibling, a sister, Frances Bartgis of Elkins.
Helen was a member of Durbin Brethren Church for many years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale with the Rev. David Rittenhouse officiating. Burial will follow in Wilmoth Cemetery on Buffalo Mountain. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home Friday.
