Wesleyan student is festival princess

Director General Mike Karlen has chosen Megan Marlene Wetzel as a princess in the 76th Mountain State Forest Festival.

Wetzel is the daughter of Lori Wetzel of Belington and Michael Wetzel of Parsons.

She is the granddaughter of Dottie Talbott and the late Paul Talbott and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wetzel and the late Shirley Wetzel of Elkins.

Wetzel graduated from Philip Barbour High School with the class of 2012 and presently attends West Virginia Wesleyan College. She is majoring in psychology.

She also took classes from Alderson-Broaddus College while in high school.

She was a four-year member of the Lady Colts Soccer Team, lettering two of those years. She was secretary of the Future Business Leaders of America, was a member of the Friends of Rachel and was Student Council class representative.

She attends the Asbury United Methodist Church. She is an advocate for breast cancer awareness, enjoys traveling, playing soccer, spending time with family and friends and especially watching her sister play sports.

Wetzel and other princesses are set to take part in the Forest Festival coronation ceremony today at the campus of Davis & Elkins College.
