Hazel Virginia Phillips White, 81, a former resident of Elkins, and most recently of Lockhart, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012.
She was born Sept. 11, 1931, at Norton, a daughter of the late Guy Henry Phillips and the late Kate Virginia Phillips.
She was married to Donald "Tub" White, who preceded her in death in July 1986.
Surviving are her children, David White of Reston, Va., Deborah Sanders of Springfield, Va., Robert White of San Antonio, Texas, Brenda Walker and husband, Junior, of Manassas, Va., Mary Criswell and husband, Roger, of Dale, Texas, Donna Fluharty and husband, Brad, of Elkins, Janet Lambert of Beverly and Margaret Morrell of Bluff City, Tenn. Mrs. White's grandchildren include Ryan White, Christie and Chasity Lambert, Andrew and Jeremy Walker, Patricia White, Sarah, Maggie and Evan White, Isaac Criswell, Jessica and DJ Morrell and Donnie and Ashley White. She also was blessed with 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a son, Donald Jr.; and one son-in-law, Denver Lambert.
She was in the last nursing class to graduate from Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. She was a registered nurse until retirement. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
