The Davis & Elkins College Senators will host the second Pig-at-the-Pit BBQ & Band fundraiser at 7:30 p.m. today. The event is scheduled in the "Pit," located below the Harper-McNeely Auditorium and accessible from the Harpertown Road campus entrance of Davis & Elkins College.
It will feature a country-style dinner of pulled-pork barbecue and side dishes from Chef Derrick Helzer of Pig Pen Catering. Senator athletic merchandise will be raffled throughout the evening and Nashville recording artists, The Davisson Brothers Band, will take the stage at 9 p.m.
The Clarksburg band released its self-titled debut album, which included the singles "Big City Hillbilly" and "Foot Stompin'" on CharTunes/Yell Records in March 2009.
"This is going to be a truly fantastic venue to experience the Davisson Brothers," said D&E Athletic Director Ronnie Palmer. "Last year, this event was a huge success for us financially and even more of a fun-filled evening than anyone could have imagined.
"I've been looking forward to mouth-watering pulled pork and remarkable musical entertainment all year long."
Tickets for the BBQ and Band event are $25 per person and available online at www.SenatorNation.com or at the door.
