Davis & Elkins College will host its annual Alumni Homecoming Celebration this weekend, beginning today with the dedication of the Myles Center for the Arts at 1 p.m. and ending Sunday following a memorial chapel service and brunch. More than 40 events are scheduled, including many for the general public.
Alumni can register for the weekend by going to the registration center in Halliehurst beginning at 11 a.m. today. Registration ensures alumni have a reservation for every event during the weekend and provides accurate attendance numbers for planning and preparation.
Four dedications are scheduled for the weekend to recognize those who have made possible new and improved spaces at the college: the Myles Center for the Arts, the Seybolt Indoor Golf Academy, the Joni Smith Softball Field and the Allen Athletic Fields. In addition, the college will honor three alumni during Saturday's banquet: Elizabeth Guye Kittle, Class of 1947, will be recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award; Fred Fincken, '62, will receive the Tower Award; and Wes Withrow, '02, will be given the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award.
