Ashlee Bennett of Elkins wins a ‘first in state’ gold ribbon in the Junior Individual Division of the Horse 4-H Visual Presentation Contest, which took place during the 2012 State 4-H Day competitions. The winning demonstration, ‘The Story of Bug’s Baby,’ was among more than 100 illustrated talks presented before judges at West Virginia University in Morgantown. 4-H members from 24 counties took part in the competition. The WVU Extension Service organizes the annual event and awards state titles in several categories. Working through WVU Extension county offices, WVU sponsors 4-H youth development clubs and other educational activities in each of the state’s 55 counties.
