Students learn about fire safety

October 16, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

During National Fire Prevention Week, Mrs. Lundell always has the Warren District Volunteer Fire Department come to her first grade classroom at Hodgesville Elementary School to learn about fire safety.

Mr. and Mrs. Huffman and Mr. Kimble came to the school this year to educate students.

The children had already been reading books, seeing videos and reading their scholastic newspaper about fire safety to get ready for their visit, but seeing the real thing was even better.

Hodgesville Elementary students pose with Warren District Volunteer firemen during National Fire Prevention Week.

The firemen gave each of the students a bag full of goodies about fire safety to take home and also a firemen's hat.

The children said they are glad that they have such nice firemen to keep them safe.
