Beverly Elementary School's fall carnival is set for 6:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 27, with "spooktacular" family activities.
Parents, educators, community members and students are working together to create an exciting, safe and fantastic event for the community. It will be hosted by the Beverly Parent/Teacher Organization.
The carnival has expanded this year to the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department, where a cakewalk, silent auction and decorated cake contest will take place. The Beverly women's auxiliary will serve concessions for the school. Also, the Beverly Historic Center is hosting a Lantern Tour starting at 7:30 p.m. Bring a flashlight and dress appropriately. The Beverly community is encouraging everyone to attend the family-friendly activities.
This year's carnival will feature games for children of all ages, face painting, scarecrow photos, Frankenstein disco room, haunted hay ride and many other thrilling activities. Families are encouraged to dress in costumes and participate in a selection of contests including costume, decorated/carved pumpkin and decorated cake contests. The costume and pumpkin contest are for children newborn to 12, and trophies will be awarded for the winners.
The carnival will host two concessions, in the school gymnasium and at the Beverly fire hall.
Participants can purchase punch cards at the door for $5. Each punch card represents 20 punches. All games cost two punches and concessions are four punches per item. At the end of the evening, punch cards can be traded in for prizes. Attendees can bring a treat bag to collect goodies as they participate in all of the activities, and they can bring lots of dimes for the cake walk and dime pitch.
