Downtown businesses to hand out treats Friday

Downtown Trick or Treat, sponsored by the Elkins ON TRAC Promotion Committee, is coming up from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Several participating businesses will provide Halloween treats for costumed youth from preschool to middle school in the downtown area.

"It's good to see the downtown filled with families having a good time," said Promotion Committee Chair Mike Ellis, of Papa John's Pizza.

"The merchants enjoy seeing the kids and giving back to the community."

Participating businesses include: Allegheny Insurance, Beander's, Ceramics with Class, Citizens Bank of West Virginia, Clara Belle's, Elkins Sewing Center, Fashion Closet, Hopscotch, Joey's Bike Shop, Main Line Books, Papa John's Pizza, Third Street Trading Co., The Inter-Mountain and the Elkins YMCA at the Youth Center entrance. Davis Trust Co. will participate from 5 to 6 p.m.

Businesses will greet children outside on the sidewalks during the event. More information is available by emailing or finding Elkins ON TRAC on Facebook.
