TENNERTON - Liberty pulled the upset on the local volleyball scene Thursday night, dominating a strong Buckhannon-Upshur squad in straight sets, 25-9, 25-16, 25-9.
"We just didn't show up tonight," Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Sheena Westfall said. "Liberty played a good game and we were never in it. We need to pull ourselves together before Monday."
MacKenzie Leigh led the offense with seven kills, followed by Leah Blend with six.
Lindsey Wagoner set with 14 assists, while Sarah Ling led the defense with six digs. She was complemented by Sarah Gillespie with four digs.
Buckhannon-Upshur falls to 22-5-1 with the loss and will enter Monday's sectional tournament as the top seed.
The Lady Bucs will entertain No. 4 Elkins in opening round action.
No. 2 seed Hampshire will face No. 3 Lewis County.
