Shirley Mae Chambers, 81, of 561 Isner Creek Road, Elkins, passed away at 11:49 a.m. Wednesday, Oct, 24, 2012, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 10, 1931, at Palmer, Mass., a daughter of the late Clifton Carl and Myrtle Hess Rose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Oscar Chambers, who died June 10, 1992.
She is survived by 11 children, Linda Rhodes of Idaho, Margaret Maloniary of Florida, William Chambers of Oregon, Janet Ogden of New Mexico, Lee and David Chambers, both of Massachusetts, Daryl Chambers of Nevada, Marianne Skidmore of Montrose, Patricia Chambers of Connecticut, Lori Matte of Canada, and Jace Chambers of Elkins; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Brown of Florida; and one sister, Catherine Boulier of Nevada.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Chambers had worked in health care and millwork all of her life. She was a Lutheran by faith.
There will be no visitation. Cremation services were provided by Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Jane Lew, WV, 304-884-2400.
