Fall Writers Conference coming to Elkins

October 30, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

West Virginia Writers Inc. plans to host the first Fall Writers Conference this Saturday at the Graceland Inn & Conference Center in Elkins.

Registration is set to begin at 8 a.m., and courses will run until 4:30 p.m. Conference space is limited, so preregistration is highly recommended.

The cost, which includes lunch, is $85 for non-members; $75 for members and seniors ages 62 or older; and $45 for high school students and full-time college students.

Students 13 or younger who enjoy writing can attend free if accompanied by a paying adult.

Courses will include both the craft and the business of writing. "Pass The Tissues" will cover emotions in writing. "Discipline Versus Muse" explores inspiration and structure in poetry. Those who have works almost ready or done might want to check out "Getting Your Novel Into Shape," "Avenues of Publishing" and "Writing and Submitting Fiction for Anthologies and Magazines."

Online registration and additional details are available online at www.wvwriters.org/conference.html.

More information also is available by contacting West Virginia Writers President Teresa Newsome at wvwprez@gmail.com or 304-601-2460.
