Mable Marie Wilson Linger Skinner, 86, of Buckhannon, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, in St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born May 3, 1926, in Braxton County, a daughter of the late William and Elsie Long Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Linger; second husband, Earnest Skinner; one son, Billy Linger; brother, Garland Wilson; and infant brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Kowalkaski; several grandchildren; four brothers, Clarence Wilson of Chicago, Ill., Charles Wilson of Perry, Fla., James "Jimmy" Wilson of Brown Summitt, N.C., and Earnest Wilson of Harrisburg, Pa.; three sisters, Ruby Smith of Perry, Sylvia Way of Martinsburg and Edith Stoddart of Winchester, Va.; sister-in-law, Loucille Devericks of Salem; special brother-in-law, Marvin Skinner of Weston; special niece, Ruthie McGee of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Skinner was a homemaker and a Christian my faith. She was a good friend, loved her flowers and was an excellent cook and seamstress.
Friends will be received Friday, Nov. 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Russell Furr and the Rev Junior Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
