West Virginia State Police arrested an Elkins man Thursday for first-degree sexual assault dating back to 2006.
Lawrence Patrick Lipscomb, 36, is accused of having sex with an underage female sometime between June 1, 2006 and Aug. 31, 2006, according to the criminal complaint in the Randolph County Magistrate Clerk's Office.
Lipscomb remained in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond, as of presstime Thursday.

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources referred the alleged sexual assault case to Cpl. K.A. Corley with the Elkins detachment of the WVSP for investigation, the complaint stated.
When the 13-year-old alleged victim was interviewed in September, she reportedly told Child Advocacy Center officials that Lipscomb came into her bedroom and sexually assaulted her while her mother was at work sometime during the summer of 2006.
She said she was age 7 or 8 and in second grade at the time of the alleged sexual assault, according to the complaint.
The penalty for individuals convicted of first-degree sexual assault is 25 to 100 years in the state penitentiary and a $5,000 to $25,000 fine.
