Wayne L. Hedrick, 58, of Virginia Avenue, Jane Lew, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, in United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 29, 1954, at Harman, a son of the late Otis Pennington and Edith Hedrick.
He is survived by one son, Dustin Hedrick of Jane Lew; two daughters, Vanessa Hedrick of Niles, Ohio, and Angela Rieder of Hadley, Pa.; five grandchildren, Trinity, Tanner, Isaac, Maddox and Sprocket; three brothers, Otis Pennington Jr. of Seneca, Richard Pennington of Belington and Roger Hedrick of East Dailey; two sisters, Rosalie Thompson of Elkins and Anna Ruth Wynn of Texas; two stepchildren, Emilee Pickens of Weston and Bradon Riffle of Jane Lew; and caretaker and friend, Jareubal Jones of Jane Lew.
He was raised by the late Frank and Edith Shreve.
Wayne was preceded in death by an older brother, Thurman Hedrick.
Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman and was loved by everyone. Mr. Hedrick was a member of Grace Baptist Temple and was retired from Sharpe Hospital with 18 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Friends and family will gather at Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service 144 Hackers Creek Road, Jane Lew today from noon to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today from the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Brown assisted by the Rev. Homer Parsons officiating. At Wayne's request, he will be cremated, and interment will follow in West Virginia National Cemetery at Grafton with full military honors.
