Help Santa find his way to children

November 17, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

The Inter-Mountain is partnering with Toys for Tots to help ensure Santa will find his way to local children whose families could use a little help this holiday season.

Our goal is to collect a mountain of toys, and we've heard the need is particularly great this year. The Elkins Marine Corps League Det. 956 has set up holiday headquarters at the county airport. There, they are storing, sorting and organizing donated gifts that will be used to help fulfill the Christmas dreams of thousands of children in this region.

We're looking for anyone in the community who believes in the magic of the season and who is able to help make those wishes come true.

Donations may be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at The Inter-Mountain's main office, 520 Railroad Ave. in Elkins, or when staffed at 3 Traders Alley in Buckhannon.

They also may be brought to the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade, which is slated for 7 p.m. Nov. 30 in downtown Elkins. Marine Corps Leagues volunteers along with Inter-Mountain staff will collect the toys along the parade route.

If you would prefer to make a donation, that is welcome as well. Donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 852, Elkins, WV 26241 or dropped at The Inter-Mountain. Contributions are tax deductible and the tax ID number is 55-076-5160001. For more information, contact Roger Ware at 304-636-4365.

Sometimes it is better to give than to receive. We think the smiles that will be on the faces of the children this program helps on Christmas morning truly will be priceless.
