Mazie "Jean" Ervin, 91, of Route 2, French Creek, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born on Dec. 23, 1920, in Webster County, a daughter of the late Samuel "Tinker" and Nerlie Dever Woods.
She was preceded in death by her husband Goff "Dick" Ervin in 1974.
She is survived by two daughters, Shelia Hobbs of French Creek and Stella Keesor of Clayton, N.C.; one son, Richard "Dick" Ervin of French Creek; six grandchildren, Michael Feronti, Jr., David Keesor, Robert "Bob" Ervin, Michelle Burnside, Lisa Keesor and Erica Ervin; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by one son, DonaldMax Ervin; one daughter, Gloria D. Ervin; five brothers, Minor, Martermur, Morton, Matthew "Max" and Minter Woods; five sisters, Mona West, Marvel Howes, Mintie "Boots" Browning, Martha "Peggy" Styles and Myra Loudin.
Mrs. Ervin was a Christian by faith and attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
The family will receive friends at Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, from noon to 1 p.m., the funeral hour, with Pastor Rick Cutright officiating. Interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park.
